Elmwood Elementary School is within the Elmwood Community Unit School District 322.  Elmwood is located 17 miles West of Peoria, IL in Peoria County.  Currently, Elmwood Elementary serves students in grades Prek-6th Grade.  Enrollment is between 385-400 students.  We offer a comprehensive academic program that includes a full day Kindergarten Program.

There are many features that make Elmwood Elementary a unique and wonderful educational experience for children.  We believe all children can learn, we educate the whole child—both academically and behaviorally, each teacher is supported in working with all students, best instructional practices are reinforced, and we enjoy wonderful parent support.  Unique features of our curriculum include a Latchkey Program, all-day Kindergarten, small class sizes, highly qualified teachers, computer classes, full service Library, Response to Intervention Program, an active Parents’ Club, Band, Music Classes, and many extra-curricular opportunities.

Elmwood Elementary has received the Bright Star Award for several years and continues to perform well on the Illinois State Assessment Testing (ISAT).  More importantly, our staff, parents, and students work in a collaborative fashion to provide a safe, challenging, and nurturing environment for students.  We educate, support, and expect respectful and appropriate behavior for all children.  These expectations are well communicated and reinforced by all faculty/staff.  The feeling of security and safety the children enjoy here at Elmwood Elementary reflects the success of our commitment to good behavior and academic success.

Further information about our school can be obtained by viewing our school’s website.  If you have any questions please contact me by calling the school at 309-742-4261 or by e-mail at tfrost@elmwood322.com.
