ART I, II,
III, IV
Grades 9-12--Two Semesters Each
The focus of
the art courses (1-4 level) is to provide working knowledge of the elements
and principles of design through a variety of hands-on projects in various
materials and processes, as well as an appreciation of our artistic
heritage (both western and oriental) through discussion, reading, lectures,
and various presentations.
Credit: 1
Class Requirements: 30 page sketchbook, black permanent ultra fine marker
(Art I & II), and $10 lab fee for Art I-IV
BAND
Grades 9-12--Two Semesters
This class is technically open to any student having sufficient skills
with a band instrument. From this group, the school is provided with
a concert band, marching band, pep band and jazz ensemble. Students
are required to participate in: 2-3 formal concerts, 2 contests, pep
rallies and other performances, which present themselves during the
year.

CHORUS
Grades 9-12--Two Semesters
No prior singing experience is necessary to enroll in this class which meets daily. Our goal is to present a wide variety of choral literature that will enable the student to gain a higher level of musical skill based upon improved vocal ability and performance techniques. All chorus members are required to perform in three to four formal concerts and one organizational contest during the school year. Optional small group and solo performance opportunities are available: National Anthem Singers, solo/ensemble contest, April Suite (a variety show), and civic events.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Grades 11-12--One Semester (Limit 10-12 Students)
This course
is an introduction to the theory, practice, and processes of black and
white photography. Instruction is provided in safety precautions related
to photographic chemicals; adjustments and operation of cameras and
accessories; photographic lighting and composition; black and white
film exposure and processing; color printing; contact and projection
printing; dodging and cropping; dry mounting and presentation prints,
and other artistic manipulations of photographic materials. Students
need a manual 35 mm camera.

Class requirements: 35 mm camera (preferable manual) and $40 lab fee
