FRESHMAN HEALTH
Grade 9--One Semester

This semester class is designed to make each student realize that in order to be healthy, a person must maintain a high degree of physical, mental, and social well being, and make certain decisions or take certain actions that can influence the level of his or her health.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Grades 9-12--Two Semesters

The physical education program promotes health related fitness activities and life long skills. Students will participate in a personal fitness plan with the goal to improve their overall level of fitness. Class activities will include a variety of carry-over skills or life long sport activities.

Credit: 1

JR HEALTH-CPR

This 12-week course allows each student with training to become Red Cross Certified in CPR and First Aid. Students will be able to:

Identify ways to prevent injury and/or illness.
Recognize when an emergency has occurred.
Follow three emergency action steps in any emergency.
Provide basic care for injury and/or sudden illness until victim can receive professional medical care.
