On a picturesque autumn day at Maple Lane Country Club on Saturday, the Elmwood/Brimfield boys cross country team captured its third consecutive sectional title with a score of 74 points, 25 points better than runner-up Stanford Olympia. The Trojans were led by sophomore Luke Hoffmann (15:51) who placed 7th over the three-mile course. He was followed by senior Jacob Brown (13th, 15:55), senior Griff Inskeep (17th, 16:07), junior Alex Feller (20th, 16:10), and sophomore Victor Lampe (34th, 16:35). The team now looks to defend its 2017 state championship at Detweiller Park in Peoria this Saturday, November 3rd, with the race beginning at 10:00 a.m. The girls team, led by senior Alexa Perrow (27th, 19:27) and junior Julianna Dunkel (45th, 20:01), finished in 8th place.
