Dear Trojan Band Members and Parents,
This summer will be the first Marching Band Camp for the High School Band. Camp will take place Monday August 5th-Friday August 9th. Camp will be held at Elmwood High School and will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 3:00 pm. If everything goes well, we will conclude at 12:00 pm on Friday August 9th.
If your child is unable to attend camp please let me know as soon as possible so that I can have a grasp on how many I will have for each instrument section. Please note that if your child is unable to attend camp this does NOT mean that they cannot do band for the year. Also, if your child is a football player, they do not need to arrive at camp until 12:00 pm Monday-Thursday as we will be spending much of our mornings working on marching fundamentals and marching drill for our halftime show. However, they should arrive at 9:00 am on Friday. I still would like the football players to attend the afternoon portion of camp so they can be present during music rehearsal/sectionals and also so we can begin building our sense of family (Bamily) and team among the ensemble.
Students will need to bring a lunch each day, as they will not be able to leave the school for food once camp has begun. I also ask that each family provide a case of bottled water for the band. This will help keep us hydrated throughout the week of camp and during the duration of the marching season. Also, please keep in mind that we will be outside for extended periods of time during camp so students should make sure to wear proper clothing and sunscreen.
