Beginning of the Year 2019-2020 Important Information



Monday, August 5th at 8:00 AM – Tuesday, August 13th at midnight

Visit beginning August 5th to set up an account and begin the registration process. Parents may also visit Elmwood Elementary and Elmwood Jr. & Sr. High School (entrances on Morgan St.) during open office hours on: Monday, August 5th from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM; Tuesday, August 6th from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM; Wednesday, August 7th from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM; and Thursday, August 8th from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. (Please note: A separate packet will be sent out by the school nurse the first full week of school for any required forms - medical or otherwise)


Tuesday, August 13th: Back to School Night for ALL students - 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Wednesday, August 14th: First Day of School - 8:10 AM – 2:15 PM


*All student health & immunization records must be on file before the start of school.

Students entering Kindergarten, 6th and 9th Grades must have a new physical exam on file in the school office before they will be allowed to start school. Students entering Kindergarten, 2nd, 6th, and 9th grades are required to have a dental examination. Students enrolling in Kindergarten or upon first entry into an Illinois school beyond Kindergarten (i.e., grades 1-12) are required to have an eye exam. Please Note: It is also recommended that for children entering Kindergarten or Pre-school for the first time to be lead tested.


One chicken pox/varicella vaccination is required for Pre-School and proof of having had two chicken pox/varicella vaccinations is required for students entering Kindergarten, 6th and 9th grades or a letter from their physician stating they’ve had the chicken pox. All students entering 6th grade are required to have proof of completion of the Hepatitis B series shots. All students entering, transferring, or advancing into 6th through 12th grades will be required to show proof of receipt of one dose of Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis). All students entering 6th & 7th grades will be required to show proof of one dose of Meningococcal Meningitis vaccine given on or after their 11th birthday. All students entering 12th grade will be required to show proof of two Meningococcal Meningitis vaccines with the second dose being given on or after their 16th birthday. (Only one dose is needed IF the student’s first dose was given at age sixteen years or later).

Kindergarten students must be 5 years of age by September 1, 2019, in order to enroll. All Kindergarten and newly enrolled students must bring a certified copy of live birth when registering. All students will need to bring their social security number with them when registering.

Book Rental &Technology Fees:

$95.00 – K-6 $110.00 – 7-8 $125.00 – 9-12 $25.00 – K-12 (Tech. Ins.)

Additional Fees:

Lunch Prices:

$2.50 – K-6 $2.75 – 7-12 (Free/reduced lunch applications available in the High School Office)


Sports Fees:

HS - $50/sport (max per athlete $70) JH - $40/sport (max per athlete $50) 5th/6th - $40/sport ($120 sports fee max per family)
