Here is a look at the new design of the fire pits!!! We have added a metal mesh lining to the inside of the fire pits, and we have started to paint all them black with a 2000 degree high heat paint after they are finished. The girls JH XC team took 2nd place in the conference meet with Isla placing 8th and a strong pack of Sophie, Emy, Brynlee, and Quincy behind her. Good team effort! The boys placed 2nd led by an 8th place finish by Jordan. #TheTrojanWay

First Grade learning about multiple meanings. Our word was "mobile." We discussed mobile phones and phones from the past. Kids got to experience a rotary phone! The big question they had was "How did you know a person's phone number if you couldn't just touch their name?"
Today was Seniors vs. Sophomores, with Seniors taking the win-- way to go, Seniors!

The Agriculture Department has been hard at work this week! Fresh rock was delivered for the greenhouse (thank you, Kevin Windish and Cooper Husemann!), and in the classroom, our eggs are officially on day one in the incubator.
Yesterday, representatives from River City Construction visited the school to meet with our team and pick up the fire pit designed and built by our CAD and Fab students. This was an incredible opportunity for everyone involved to collaborate with such a respected company. Their generous donation last year played a huge role in helping us get to where we are today, and we are grateful for their continued support. We’re also working on plans to bring River City into the classroom to speak with our students—or even take a trip to their East Peoria Police Department job site.
