The High School Varsity Scholastic Bowl team competed at the Masonic State Tournament yesterday. With a 4-1 record in pool play and one victory in the playoff, the team took home 3rd place in 1A, the highest finish in school history. Now on to the IHSA State Series Monday!
🔧 Industrial Arts Field Trip - Morton Buildings! 🔨
Yesterday our Industrial Arts students had the opportunity to visit Morton Buildings for an exciting and educational field trip! Students got a behind-the-scenes look at how their buildings are designed and constructed, learning about the materials, planning, craftsmanship, and teamwork that go into every project.
They also explored the wide variety of career opportunities involved in the industry—from construction and design to manufacturing and project management.
To top it all off, students put their skills to the test with a nail-driving contest 🏆🔨 — and there were some impressive swings!

Our own Elmwood #322 Board of Education received the IASB School Board Governance Recognition! This two-year award honors boards that practice effective governance based on IASB’s Foundational Principles of Effective Governance. BOE President Jessica Reyling, Board Member Angie Agan, and Superintendent Joel Schmieg were able to attend to receive the award. The year of the FIRE HORSE - Did you know the Chinese Lunar New Year is a 15 day celebration?! It was February 17th through March 3rd this year. Using menthol as the active ingredient, we grabbed the Merck Index, looked up menthol, and located the LD50 (rats). Rats are not humans, but it gives us a decent data point to work from. We found it would take 200ish bags, in one sitting, to reach the LD50 for a 100kg 'person.' I think we are safe.

Our Trojan Forge member of the week is Katie may. Katie is the one that you guys talk to when you place an order. She also makes sure that everyone is staying on task. She also stays in communication with the CAD team to see where projects are and for when they are done.
