On Monday, Biology II students had the opportunity to visit Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Students got to speak with Mr. Hines who gave a tour of the funeral home, embalming room, and crematorium. Mr. Hines also spoke about the duties of a coroner, his former career. Students got to learn how anatomy impacts the embalming and cremation processes. Students were very excited to learn about this different career path, and most were surprised to learn how most job duties of funeral directors involve working with the living rather than the deceased!

Great night for the Trojans Track team. We had 30 new personal best performances at the IVC meet. One of those personal bests was also a new school record. One of our last Discussions in Enriched III is over our most anticipated story, "Bloodchild."
Great talk about colonialism, coercion, and science fiction (and joined by an alum!!). One of my favorite stories and a great group to talk about it with.

We are so fortunate to have an involved and caring Elmwood JH/HS Parents Club. The Club fulfilled a grant request for physical science/chemistry this year, purchasing webcams for each lab station so that we can film or take pictures of experiments.
Thank you Parents Club from Todd Hollis.
If you are interested in supporting the Club, or joining, please find them on Facebook: Elmwood JH/HS Parents Club
