The Night Before Graduation
(Trojans Edition)
‘Twas the night before grad day, and all through the halls,
Not a Trojan was stirring—no texts, no calls.
The lockers were empty, the textbooks all turned,
Four long years behind us, with lessons well learned.
The seniors were home, sprawled out in their beds,
While visions of summer danced in their heads.
Caps sat on dressers, gowns hung with care,
With hopes that the big day soon would be there.
When out on the field there arose such a sound,
I jumped from my bed with a single swift bound!
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Flung open the blinds and kicked over my sash.
The moon lit the bleachers, the track, and the gym,
Where memories echoed—the lights growing dim.
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But a crowd full of Trojans, all full of cheer!
With the principal front and the staff all in line,
I knew graduation would soon be mine.
More rapid than rumors the moments they came,
And they whistled and shouted and called us by name:
"Now Freshmen! Now Sophomores! Now Juniors—hang tight!
We’re off to new places, we’re taking our flight!
To college, to trade school, to jobs down the line—
Or maybe just sleep past the school start time!"
And then in a twinkling, the morning would come,
With gowns, and with tassels, and loud beating drums.
I ran to my closet, my outfit laid out,
"Tomorrow," I whispered, "we’re done—no doubt."
We’ll walk cross that stage, we’ll smile real wide,
With family and teachers beaming with pride.
And as we toss caps to the stars shining bright—
“Happy Graduation to all, and to all a good night!"

Kindergarten had a great time at Niabi Zoo! It was a steamy 92° day, but that didn't slow us down. The ostriches had the best idea - relaxing in the sprinkler. Thank you to the families that joined us. #TheTrojanWay

The Industrial Arts students are wrapping up strong on some great projects they have been working on before the school year ends.

After reading Fahrenheit 451, English III students created book collections that include ten books they would save from the fires if they had the mental capacity to memorize books. Their presentations justifying these books today were convincing, and their creativity was great!

Check out these young authors! 8th graders wrote their own "Who Would Win?" animal books and presented them to 1st graders today. Thank you to Mrs. Blum and Mrs. Wendland for letting our class present to your students!

Mrs. Bell's class had an amazing day at The Cookery in Morton learning about all things chicken, cooking, and culinary CTE options.
A big shout out to PNC Bank for funding this amazing experience!

The archery unit in PE continues to be a favorite for many students, and they're getting good! #TheTrojanWay
